Ginger’s (Stewart) Journey at Pet Practice
Ginger was an 8 year old cat who was seen because his owners noticed he was more lethargic than usual and not wanting to eat.
Ginger was examined by our lovely vet Lizzie and was found to have a larger than usual urinary bladder which was unable to be expressed. Sadly this meant Ginger was suffering from an emergency condition called urtheral obsctruction (blocked bladder).
This condition can be life threatening and Ginger was admitted for fluid therapy, blood tests and placement of a urinary catheter to relieve his obstruction.
A few days later Ginger was well enough to go home and he is now feeling much better and is back to stealing his sister’s food!
