Saffie's Journey at Pet Practice Milton Keynes
Saffie came to see us in Milton Keynes after showing some worrying symptoms. Despite eating normally she had lost a significant amount of weight and was drinking more than usual. She had a full health check including blood sampling to check organ function. Saffie’s bloods revealed she had diabetes which explained her presenting symptoms.
Her diabetes is caused by a lack of insulin production which in turn means Saffie can’t regulate her blood glucose levels. She requires daily injections of replacement insulin and has stabilised very well. She is very tolerant of injections, especially as she knows she is going to get a tasty treat for being so good. Saffie is an older lady now but with her regular check-ups and doating family remains in a stable and well condition.
